"Nice spot, but it felt a bit neglected"
I went last weekend i was kind of expecting it to feel a bit fresher. The venue itself is really nice, so I kept thinking, “This could be such a great place if it was just looked after a little better.” The toilets definitely needed some attention, and a few areas looked worn down. It wasn’t awful, but it did feel a bit grubby in places. Hopefully they put a bit more effort into maintenance because the place has a lot of potential.

"Felt safe, just a short wait getting in"
I went to the Southbank Centre last weekend and the bag check was simple overall. The staff were polite and once I was inside it felt secure, which I appreciated. The queue was a bit slow before the show, especially if you had a bigger bag, so I’d probably get there a little earlier next time. Not a big deal though, and nothing that spoiled the evening. Standard security process really.

"Comfortable inside, even on a busy day"
I popped into the Southbank Centre last weekend, and it actually reminded me of why I’ve always liked spending time around that part of London. Even with loads of people about, it still felt really easy to be there.
It was busy, but the inside didn’t feel stuffy or overheated like some venues can. The air felt fresh, and the temperature was comfortable the whole time, even after I’d been walking around for a while.
It made the visit feel much more relaxed. I didn’t get that urge to step outside for a breather, so I could just enjoy the space and take everything in properly...

"A nice place to drift around for free"
I popped in for a couple of the free exhibitions and, sort of unexpectedly, ended up staying for a lunchtime event too. It’s one of those places where you can just wander without much of a plan, which I like. It was relaxed overall, though it did get busy in parts, and I did find myself doing that thing where you stop and stare around looking for a sign that isn’t quite obvious enough. Still, tiny navigation wobble aside, I really enjoyed it. Nice way to spend a few hours without spending anything...

"Not the best spot for a family day out"
I went here with my kids and, it didn’t feel very family-friendly. It was really crowded, and there wasn’t much clear info about what was actually suitable for younger children. Even trying to find toilets or something to eat felt like more of a hassle than it should’ve been. The staff were okay, but the whole visit just felt stressful overall. It might be fine for adults, but I wouldn’t plan another family trip here...

"I went to a concert here with..."
I went to a concert here with my mum, who uses a wheelchair, and overall it was a good experience. Booking the accessible seats online was straightforward, and the staff were helpful, helpful without making a big deal of anything. They showed us where the lifts were, and the toilets were easy enough to find too. The only downside was the foyer, which got really packed, so getting through was slow, slow going at times. But it was still a decent visit overall

I don’t know why anyone would make it more complicated than it is—I found the event details quickly and didn’t have to deal with any hassle. Everything was clear enough and easy to get to.

"The place itself was actually really nice..."
The place itself was actually really nice once we got inside, but this is where it got annoying: getting there was way more stressful than I expected. Parking nearby was expensive and a pain to find, and the trains were packed too. By the time we arrived, it already felt like we’d dealt with a whole separate hassle just to get in.

"I went to Southbank Centre on a..."
I went to Southbank Centre on a weekend and, i expected it to be absolutely packed. But it was actually manageable. There was a nice buzz around the place, you know, busy enough to feel fun, but not that shoulder-to-shoulder kind of chaos.
The queues moved faster than I thought they would, and we still managed to find spots to sit down for a bit. I really liked that it felt lively without becoming stressful. Yeah, I’d definitely go again.

"I’ve been to Southbank Centre a handful..."
I’ve been to Southbank Centre a handful of times now, and like i said to a friend recently, the best thing about it is how random and varied the events can be. One week it’s classical music, then it’s a talk, poetry, a festival, or something for families. It just doesn’t feel stuck as one kind of venue.

Even when I’m not planning a proper night out, I usually end up spotting something that sounds interesting. Like i said, it’s just nice having a place in London with that much going on all the time. Easy 5 stars from me.

"Great seats and an easy night out"
Booked through southbankcentre.co i was really pleased with the seats. We weren’t right at the front (which I don’t always need anyway), but the view was still really clear and I didn’t feel like I was missing anything. There was decent leg room too, which made a big difference for a longer show. The sightlines felt well planned — no awkward craning or leaning around someone’s head (always a win). Overall, it was a really easy night out and I’d happily book similar seats again

"Tasty food and fair drink prices"
The food was really tasty. Drinks were reasonable too, especially for London. I just wish the portions were a bit bigger.

"Not as welcoming as other spots nearby"
I went in hoping for a nice vibe, but it felt kind of cold and awkward inside. Some areas were way too busy while others felt completely dead, so the atmosphere was just off. Compared to a few similar places nearby that feel more relaxed and welcoming, this one didn’t really make me want to come back anytime soon.

"The entry queue was really frustrating"
The queue to get in was a mess. It moved really slowly, and there didn’t seem to be any clear direction on where people were supposed to stand. Even small things like signs or a staff member guiding the line would’ve made a big difference.

"Mostly easy to find my way, with a few little clues needed"
I went to the Southbank Centre for a gig and, for the most part, getting there was straightforward. Coming from the river side, the signs made it clear enough where I needed to go, and the extra staff signs near the entrances helped point me in the right direction.

Once I was inside, though, I did have to read between the lines a bit. Some of the corridors didn’t make it immediately obvious where to head next, and the toilets weren’t exactly jumping out at me. Nothing major, just one of those “pause and look around for a second” moments. Overall, the wayfinding was decent.

I genuinely really enjoyed this. The exhibitions felt thoughtfully curated, easy to follow, and kept my attention the whole time. Definitely worth checking out.

"Helpful staff, easy visit"
Went to Southbank Centre last weekend. Nice overall.

I got a bit lost trying to find the right entrance. Staff were really helpful. Someone checked my ticket and pointed me the right way. No fuss.

Queue was a little slow. But they stayed friendly even though it was busy. I’d go again

"Pretty decent from what I remember"
From what I remember, the toilets were fine overall. They were clean enough, and even though it was a bit busy, the queue seemed to move along quickly.

"Handled my event change really well"
My event time got changed, and they emailed me about it right away. The message was clear and easy to understand, with nothing confusing, and my ticket still worked perfectly. It made rearranging my plans way less stressful. i felt relieved and really appreciated how smooth it all was.
